Royal Grass® product comparison
This page exists to be used rather than read. It lists every active Royal Grass lawn we supply with the specifications we hold for it, and it is generated from the same catalogue that drives our product pages.
If a field is blank in the catalogue it appears as a dash. We would rather show a gap than fill it with something plausible.

How to read the columns
| Column | What it means | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Pile height | Blade length from backing to tip | Feel underfoot, drying time, how much brushing it needs |
| Colour | Royal Grass' own colour name | The difference you notice every day |
| Backing | The layer the blades are tufted into | Stability of the tuft, and how well the lawn holds shape on a sub-base |
| Warranty | Manufacturer warranty period | Cover for manufacturing defects, subject to the manufacturer's terms |
| Roll widths | Widths the lawn is supplied in | Decides how many joins your garden needs |
| Price | Retail price per m² excluding VAT | Multiplied by your measured area plus waste |
| Availability | Stock position in our catalogue | Whether it can be despatched now or made to order |
Where the differences really are
Several lawns in the range share a pile height and a backing, and differ mainly in colour and how the yarn feels. Those are not differences a table can settle, which is why we publish close-up images and offer samples. If two rows look the same to you, that is an accurate reading of the data, not a mistake.
- Same pile, different look: choose on colour.
- Same look, different backing: choose on how intensively the lawn will be used.
- Different warranty: treat it as one input, not the decision. A warranty covers manufacturing defects, not wear.
- Price on application: the lawn is listed but not currently priced online, so ask before planning a budget around it.
What a comparison cannot tell you
A table settles the measurable differences and nothing else. It will not tell you whether a lawn looks right against a brick wall, how it feels on a cold morning, or whether the green turns yellow in the low light of a London February. Those are the questions a sample answers.
It also cannot tell you how a lawn wears, because wear is a function of use and of the base beneath it. Two identical lawns on different sub-bases will look different after five years. If you are choosing between rows that look the same, spend the difference on the installation instead.
Reading warranty periods fairly
Warranty periods in this range are long, and they are offered by the manufacturer rather than by us. A longer period is not automatically a better lawn, and a shorter one is not a warning: the terms cover manufacturing defects, not the pile flattening where a family walks to the shed. Compare the construction first, then treat the warranty as reassurance rather than a specification.
Turning a comparison into an order
Once you have a shortlist, measure the garden and run it through the grass calculator. It returns the area, the roll configuration and the price including any waste allowance, which is the number worth comparing between lawns.
